AUGUST 2025 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Welcome to August! Are you over the hill? Are we over the hill? What is over that dang hill anyway and who said it’s worse than where we are right now? Am I over the hill? I don’t feel like it, do you? NO!!! You’ve found North County Newcomers! Our members enjoy many diverse activities, so much so I’ve heard many times, “I just don’t have that much free time…” Dinners, hikes, wine tasting, game nights…what fun! If you’ve been with Newcomers for a while, this is a non-stop wash-rinse-repeat message. “JOIN AN ACTIVITY”. Why do we do this? Because we shudder to think that YOU are at home, sitting in your easy chair, watching the boob-tube, and getting up the next day with nothing planned. Ohhh the horror! Instead, get involved. Do you have a fun hobby or pastime? Share it with others. Like to paint black light velvet posters or enjoy collecting Beanie Babies? Maybe you’re a closet woodworker or get your kicks fishing for sea bass. I’ll bet you can find a friend who also likes your hobbies, (no matter how quirky they are). If you are only involved in one activity, you’re not getting your money’s worth with NCNC. I mean, you’re not “over the hill” are you? :-). Steve Gazay 2025–26 President |

Some activities have set dates and possibly times; others are set by the individual groups. Members can participate in as many activities or as few activities as they choose.
